How does the Classic HydroFlex™ differ from the Classic Standard Sailcloth strap?
The Classic HydroFlex™ is made from a single piece of rubber, with our signature sailcloth pattern embossed directly into the surface. This gives it a soft, flexible feel from the first wear, along with waterproof performance suited to heat, sweat, swimming and everyday use.
The Classic Standard Sailcloth uses a traditional layered construction, combining an embossed synthetic upper with a leather base that’s coated with a thin layer of natural rubber. It has a firmer, more structured feel when new and gradually softens as it breaks in with regular wear.
Both feature the familiar fit and adjustment of a traditional tang buckle. Choose the Classic Standard Sailcloth for a more traditional, structured strap. If you’re after the very best we offer, the strap that defines our highest standards of comfort, waterproofing, and durability, then the HydroFlex™ Strap is our flagship.
What's the difference between Classic HydroFlex™ and Loop-less™ HydroFlex™?
The Classic HydroFlex™ and Loop-less™ HydroFlex™ share the same one piece rubber construction, with our signature sailcloth pattern embossed directly into the surface. Both offer the same softness, flexibility, waterproof performance and durability.
The difference is the buckle system and how each strap wears. The Classic HydroFlex™ uses a traditional tang buckle with keeper loops, giving it a timeless appearance and the familiar adjustment of a conventional watch strap. The Loop-less™ HydroFlex™ uses a single fold deployant clasp with no keeper loops, creating a more streamlined profile and a different fastening experience.
Choose the Classic HydroFlex™ for a traditional buckle and familiar styling, or the Loop-less™ HydroFlex™ for a loop free design with a deployant clasp. The core performance is the same.
Why is it more expensive than other straps?
Classic HydroFlex™ straps sit at the top of our range for a reason. They use the same one piece construction and sailcloth embossing process developed for our Loop-less™ HydroFlex™ range, paired with a traditional tang buckle and keeper loops. Will it fit my watch?
Yes. This strap is available in a variety of lug width sizes (19mm through to 23mm) to suit most major watch brands, and comes fitted with quick-release spring bars for tool-free installation.
Will this work with the Loop-less™ deployant clasp?
The Classic HydroFlex™ strap comes fitted with our premium tang buckle, with the option to upgrade to our RM Style Deployant Clasp. It is not compatible with the Loop-less™ deployant clasp, as that system is specifically designed for our Loop-less™ strap configuration.
Is it comfortable for all-day wear?
Absolutely. Our HydroFlex™ range of straps are designed for optimal comfort, ensuring they flex with your wrist.
Can it handle water, sweat, and heat?

was hesitant at first. Yes, the price is steep. I own about a hundred straps, so I know what a good one costs, and this was more than I'm used to paying. I almost didn't order it.
I've been wearing it on my IWC Mark XX for a week now, and I haven't taken it off. The thing I noticed first, and the reason I'm writing this, is that the watch disappears on my wrist. I stop thinking about it. With most straps there's always something: a bit of stiffness, an edge you feel, the watch sliding around. Here there's nothing, and that's rare. Out of a hundred straps, I could count on one hand the ones that do this.
It also looks very good on the IWC. The blue is dark enough to stay serious, and the white stitching adds a sporty touch without making the watch look cheap.
So yes, it's expensive. But I've bought plenty of cheaper straps that ended up in a drawer after a few days, and that money adds up too. This one is staying on the watch. Five stars, and I don't give those easily.

I’m very pleased with my new HydroFlex strap on their deployant clasp. The stitching is perfect, the strap feels tough but not so stiff it needs a break in period, very comfortable right out of the packaging. Dirt and sweat from work has been washing right off. I know many people get hung up on the price but, I genuinely believe you get what you pay for with this. I have a drawer full of inexpensive junk straps that would add up enough to have paid for this one well made strap. I’ll purchase another one in the near future just for a different color.
